Aiming to make a further leap towards becoming a “corporate group for housing to create great living”

Thanks to your tremendous support, the Company celebrated its 85th anniversary since founding in February 2022. Let me express our deepest gratitude to each of you, our stakeholders.

The Company conducts a variety of businesses that center on condominiums throughout the entire Haseko Group under the corporate philosophy of “To contribute to society by creating an optimal environment for cities and people.” For newly built condominiums, Haseko has successfully built a cumulative total of over 680,000 condominium units since completing its first condominium in 1969. This figure corresponds to approximately 10% of the total number of for-sale condominium units currently used or usable in Japan. With this achievement, Haseko has spread the form of housing as condominiums widely among consumers and set standards for present-day condominiums through technological developments that lead the industry.

In the current business environment surrounding us at the Haseko Group, addressing social and environmental issues such as an aging society with a low birthrate, decreasing population, trends for “compact cities,” aging buildings, intensified natural disasters and decarbonization has become an important theme. Accordingly, the Haseko Group formulated the “Haseko Group Long-Term Vision ~What the Company Aims to Be for the Fiscal Year Ending March 2030~” in 2020 and started the Haseko Next Stage Plan (Plan NS), the five-year medium-term business plan for achieving the vision, in an endeavor to implement its growth strategy that takes into account changes in social conditions. In for-sale condominium construction, which is our mainstay business, we have expanded the business area, broadening our residential-use offerings including ultra-skyscraper condominiums, redevelopment projects, rental condominiums, corporate housing, student dormitories and detached houses, while working to expand and reinforce our business domains such as logistics facilities, data centers and office buildings. Moreover, we are proactively implementing our development business in regional cities, successfully expanding such service-related business as management and remodeling there.

On top of these, as how housing should be and what people need in terms of work styles are changing and diversifying significantly due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), condominiums are required to offer a variety of creative and innovative proposals for their unit floor plans and facilities, etc. In response, we are aiming to create a new business model by working innovatively to strengthen the competitiveness of our products and services and improve productivity through proactively promoting Digital Transformation (DX) in an original manner, such as utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Living Information Modeling (LIM). To this end, we launched the DX Academy in the previous fiscal year in an effort to foster human resources with special knowledge and expertise.

As for our initiatives on ESG, we established “HASEKO ZERO-Emission,” the Haseko Group’s policy for responding to climate change, in December 2021 in order to specifically contribute to realizing a low-carbon society. The entire Haseko Group is committed to solving issues through its business operations, such as promoting the use of electricity from 100% renewable energy sources at its construction sites, developing and adopting construction techniques that reduce environmental burdens, and making energy-saving proposals including ZEH (net-zero energy housing). With these endeavors, we will contribute to achieving a sustainable society while aiming to enhance our corporate value. Moreover, we established the Haseko Group’s Human Rights Policy in January 2022 to explicitly demonstrate our belief on respect for human rights and fulfill our responsibility for respecting human rights as a company.

Going forward, while remaining grateful to all our stakeholders, we will more strongly reinforce coordination among Group companies and exercise our comprehensive strengths. By doing so, we aim to make a further leap as a “corporate group for housing to create great living.” Your continued and even greater support and encouragement would be greatly appreciated.
