Humans and homes,
co-evolving into
a future of imagination

Throughout our history, HASEKO Corporation has pursued the creation of homes where residents can "live comfortably and with peace of mind for evermore," serving to establish the standard for modern condominiums. In 2022, we launched the new "ivi project" initiative, a bold experiment to co-create the future of housing with a collaborative team.

Integrating the R&D of HASEKO Corporation’s Technical Research Institute, the construction engineering expertise of Hosoda Corporation, the robotics and environmental engineering by Hiroshi Ishiguro, and the aesthetic studies of future behavioral gestures by Akane Kikuchi, this project will create an unprecedented form of the "home." Including light, sound, air, scent, and texture, these residential elements respond autonomously to human movement and the passage of time. And through this, we present a new kind of experience where the home becomes a living presence.

Instead of people controlling their environment, we offer an entirely new experience by enabling the home to breathe and resonate in harmony with its inhabitants. This innovation awakens the senses and inspires creative lifestyles.

Envisioning future homes
is to evolve ourselves.

HASEKO Corporation is a company dedicated to creating homes and lifestyles. And we robotics engineers continue to create a wide range of robots and breathe life into them. At first glance, these may seem like entirely different fields. But what they share is a commitment to "exploring human nature" and "creating robots and homes with heart." Both robots and homes are shaped by human culture and civilization, which, in turn, help us evolve. "ivi project" is a journey that opens a new chapter in this human evolution. The homes created by "ivi project" not only encourage personal growth but also offer moments that enable residents to reconnect with their true selves. A space where nature, technology, and art converge becomes a place of self-discovery. "ivi project" aims to go beyond conventional housing, to create homes where residents can connect with their living space on an emotional level and evolve through that experience.

Q

What do you consider to be the most important element in realizing the "living home" concept?

Norio Horii
Senior Operating Officer /
General Manager, Architecture & Engineering Div.

I believe it would be softness and warmth. Living beings are soft and warm. Gentle curves, light that radiates warmth, soothing sounds, and subtle scents. Backed by advanced technology, yet never feeling mechanical, we were able to realize a "living home" filled with a sense of softness and warmth.

Yukio Kurematsu
Haseko Anesis
Director & Executive Operating Officer

Through experiments that explore how changes in light, sound, and other elements effect the human senses, we believe we've been able to materialize the concept of a "living home."

Tatsuya Nakano
HASEKO Corporation
Digital Transformation Promotion Manager, Architecture & Engineering Div.

Like heartbeats and breathing, incorporating subtle fluctuations and gradual changes that occur even when we're at rest throughout the building was important so that the entire space evokes the sensation of a single living organism.

Jo Kuroda
HASEKO Corporation
Advanced Technology Laboratory, Haseko Technical Research Institute

From the perspective of our research institute, the unified control of lighting and sound was considered the most important aspect. In particular, integrating sound control as part of the lighting system was a first for us, which was a valuable challenge for us engineers.

Kensuke Murao
HASEKO Corporation
Dept. III, Architecture & Engineering Div.

"Dialogue with the home"
This was the most important point in the design decision-making process. While we incorporated many curvilinear designs throughout the interior and exterior, each one carries meaning. For example, the stairs and handrails are arranged to gently welcome and guide people along their path, while the entrance features recesses and protrusions designed to invite people to have a seat and rest.

Takashi Nishiyama
HASEKO Corporation
Dept. II Manager, Architecture & Engineering Div.

An overall planning strategy was important to provide a space in harmony with its residents, which combines a spatial design integrating sensory-responsive technologies with soothing curves, and the connectivity between indoor and outdoor environments.

Q

How has HASEKO Corporation’s experience been applied in developing the "living home"?

Norio Horii
Senior Operating Officer /
General Manager, Architecture & Engineering Div.

HASEKO has continually created homes and living environments that align with the needs of each era. From mass production housing during the period of rapid economic growth to custom-designed apartments that cater to an era of diversity, we now reflect on what type of home and lifestyle is truly relevant for the future. Our aim is to deliver homes and living spaces with both essential and universal value to as many people as possible. We believe that the "living home" embodies a human-first approach with intrinsic, timeless value.

Yukio Kurematsu
Haseko Anesis
Director & Executive Operating Officer

We believe that the company's mission "To contribute to society by creating an optimal environment for cities and people" is reflected in the thoughts, expertise, and experiences of each employee.

Tatsuya Nakano
HASEKO Corporation
Digital Transformation Promotion Manager, Architecture & Engineering Div.

Including comfort, convenience, ease of use, and other basic factors, ultimately it’s essential to have the fundamental elements of a home properly in place, and then have a concept built upon that foundation in order to be something truly genuine.

Jo Kuroda
HASEKO Corporation
Advanced Technology Laboratory, Haseko Technical Research Institute

By leveraging our diverse experience in condominium construction of various types, I believe that as an engineer, I was able to present a solid proposal in response to Professor Ishiguro’s demanding requests, which could be seen as quite a challenge. At first, Professor Ishiguro seemed unconvinced by words and images alone, but I’m happy we were able to move closer to completion through physical samples and tangible examples.

Kensuke Murao
HASEKO Corporation
Dept. III, Architecture & Engineering Div.

The proof-of-concept experiments in lighting and acoustics at the HASEKO Technical Research Institute were made possible thanks to the technical expertise of HASEKO Corporation. Moving forward, as this project advances into the world, I believe we will be able to provide compelling proposals, building on the results of these experiments.

This is the first model home in Japan where you can experience the signature ivi house experience. It presents a home that allows you to feel a connection with nature while still being in the city. Interactively controlled sound and light create a dialogue between the resident and the living space, providing a rich and sensory lifestyle experience.

Realizing a new residential environment as a "connected & living home" that provides a harmonious resonance of people and their residence.

STORY
Movement, sensation, connection.

Until now, homes only functioned when we pressed a switch or gave a command.
But the future home we envision responds to the senses of its residents,
with an environment that evolves alongside the people who live within.
In 2025, the "ivi project" will officially launch, bringing this innovation to life.
This is not just a housing development but a project exploring the very essence of a "living home."
Light, sound, and air stimulate the senses, creating a resonance between the home and its residents:
an experience that feels as if the home has come to life.
Providing connectivity with nature while still living in the city,
and through the resonance between people and their homes, new cultures and lifestyles are born.

APPROACH HOW WE DO?
Various elements of the "living home"
engage and stimulate the senses of its residents.
Vision

Responding to the time of day and human movement,
fluctuating lights create a living space that visually breathes.

Scent

Time-based aroma diffusion
varies between morning and evening,
helping to regulate daily rhythms
and restore balance of both mind and body.

Sound

The ambient sound environment
dynamically adjusts in response to human movement,
solar trajectory, and seasonal transitions,
optimizing comfort indoors.

Touch

The curvilinear spatial design provides a cocooning sense of comfort,
embodying the concept of a home that gently embraces its occupants.
