General information

When is the museum open?
We are open 10:00-17:00 on Monday to Friday and the second and fourth Saturday. (Last admission 15:00)
When is the museum closed?
The first, third, and fifth Saturday. Every Sunday, National holiday, Summer holidays, and Year-end and New Year holidays.
Do you have parking?
Yes, you can enter from the vehicle entrance facing "Tama Central Park Street".
Please check the access map for details.
Do you have parking for large buses?
Yes, you can use the parking. However, we don't have a parking lot, especially for large buses. Please call the "Reservation desk number" until the day before you visit. The reservation call is only available in Japanese.
How much are the admission fees?
Admission is free.

Do I need a reservation?
Yes, all visitors are required to make a reservation in advance.

It's 5 times a day.

How much time does it take to look around the museum?
It takes about 90 minutes depending on how you look around.
How many people can visit at once?
A maximum of 5 people is allowed at once.
What is the age target for the museum?
Every age is welcome to visit the museum. However, it is suited for anyone who is a 5th-grade of an elementary school student and older.
Do you have an exhibition guide?
No, we are not able to offer a guided tour for individuals. You can have a look around the museum freely by yourself. However, an audio guide is available for lending as an exhibition information service. If you wish to use this service, please ask the reception staff.
Is there any guidance available in languages other than Japanese?
An audio guide in multiple languages is available for lending as an exhibition information service.

The reservation call is only available in Japanese.
Do you have an Audio guide?
An audio guide is available for lending as an exhibition information service.
You can listen to the exhibition guide in multiple languages by using the touch pen and the audio guide map. Please feel free to ask the reception staff.

  • If you wish to use this service, please ask the reception staff.
  • You can not take the touch pen home.
  • You can take the audio guide map home.
Do you accept group visitors?
A maximum of 10 people is allowed. If you want to visit more than 11 people, we ask you to divide them into 10-person groups and make multiple reservations.
Are children allowed to visit the museum without their parents or guardians?
Visitors under Junior high school students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Are there any precautions for visitors?
Yes, please understand the following points when visiting the museum.
  • Please refrain from any behavior that may cause a nuisance to other visitors.
  • We do not accept visitors that are under the influence of alcohol.
  • The Museum accepts no responsibility whatsoever for accidents resulting from failure to follow precautions and accidents resulting from inattention on the part of a visitor.
  • Please follow the staff instructions in the museum.

About facilities

Can I eat or drink inside the museum?
No, please refrain from eating or drinking while viewing the exhibits. Drinking is only available in the Entrance. Also, there is no restaurant on the premises either.
Can my pet come inside the museum?
No, pets are not allowed inside the museum, except for guide dogs.
Can I take photos inside the museum?
Yes, you can take photos inside the museum for personal use only. However, please refrain from taking pictures of the video and the recording.
Is there any space to take a break?
We have a meeting space, but there is no place to take a break in the museum.
Is there a museum shop?
We don’t have any museum shops.
Do you have lockers?
Yes, we have lockers available for free near the reception.
Do you have a nursing room and diaper changing table?
No, we don't have baby carriages available for use.
Can I borrow a wheelchair?
We have wheelchairs available to lend to visitors. If you wish to use one, please ask when you make a reservation.
Do you have a smoking room?
Yes, we have a smoking room in the museum.
However, all other area is non-smoking.
What measures do you have in place to prevent the infectious disease?
Our museum takes the following measures.

  • Many alcohol disinfectants are located in the museum.
  • All staff in the museum are managing their physical condition to measure the temperature.
  • We frequently sanitize touched areas including lockers and restrooms in the museum.
  • We open the window and take in outside air for proper ventilation.
  • We have located an acrylic partition at the reception counter to prevent droplet infection.
  • Exhibits and some items you can touch are covered by antibacterial treatment.
