Our Four Main Themes

We will promote initiatives toward realization of Our Four Main Themes, which is the goal of the Haseko Group’s sustainability.
For further details on each theme and related initiatives, please see the pages below.

10 SDGs (Global Goals) closely related to our business

We have identified 10 of the Global Goals (SDGs) promoted by the United Nations with a particular connection to our business. We recognize that the business and operations of the Haseko Group are closely linked to social and environmental challenges, and through solution-oriented business actions, we aim to create synergies between the generation of social value and the growth of the Haseko Group.

Materiality

Society faces many issues, including climate change and human rights, and proactive engagement is demanded in order to address these issues.
In order to both ensure sustainable business growth and create social value, the Haseko Group has identified priority issues to be addressed as materiality (material issues) from the perspective of business and social axes, and has incorporated these issues into our guidelines for promoting sustainability.
After having first identified the details of materiality in 2018, we subsequently revised these details in April, 2020 and again in May, 2023. We will conduct periodic reviews as necessary from a perspective of consistency with the management policy and social conditions.

Sustainability Action Plan is based on Our Four Main Themes, and consists of initiative items to move toward the “Vision for 2037 (100th anniversary)” and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure how much progress has been made. The Action Plan covers the business activities of the entire Haseko Group and is reviewed and improved each fiscal year.
A report on the targets and results for FY2024:

  • From April 2025, the Haseko Group CSR Action Plan has been renamed and is now being operated as the Haseko Group Sustainability Action Plan.

Sustainability Organizational Framework

The Haseko Group is promoting sustainability organizationally through the operation of the management system shown below. As a subordinate organization to the Board of Directors, we have established a "Sustainability Committee" chaired by the president of Haseko Corporation, which examines and decides on sustainability policies and activity plans, as well as monitors and reviews the status of activities. Matters discussed and reported at the Sustainability Committee are reported to and supervised by the Board of Directors, and important matters are submitted to the Board for deliberation and decision.
Additionally, as a subordinate body under the committee, we also have the “Sustainability Promotion Conference” to engage in promoting and instilling sustainability across the Group, including environmental initiatives such as decarbonization, energy and environmental technologies.
We will continue to actively advance various initiatives towards the realization of sustainability.
